The Redeemed Give Thanks

Psalms 106

This psalm gathers several pictures of people in distress, wanderers lost in the wilderness, prisoners in darkness and iron, the sick near the gates of death, and sailors tossed by a storm, each crying to the Lord and being delivered, with the refrain that they should acknowledge his mercies. It also describes the Lord turning fruitful land into desert for the wickedness of its people and turning desert into fruitful land for the poor whom he lifts up.
