The Levites Given to Aaron

Numbers 3

The sons of Aaron and the families of Levi, Gedson, Caath, and Merari, are listed with their duties and encampments around the tabernacle, and the Levites are given to Aaron in place of Israel's firstborn. Since the firstborn outnumber the Levites, Moses collects a silver ransom for the excess and gives it to Aaron and his sons.
