The Census in the Wilderness

Numbers 1

The Lord commands Moses and Aaron to number all the men of Israel able to go to war, tribe by tribe, and lists the leaders appointed for each tribe with their totals. The Levites are excluded from this military census and are instead appointed to encamp around the tabernacle and care for it.
