The Song of Deborah and Barak

Judges 5

Deborah and Barak sing a victory song praising the Lord for his coming in power and recounting the tribes who joined the battle against Sisera and those who stayed away. The song celebrates Jael's killing of Sisera in vivid detail and closes by picturing Sisera's mother waiting in vain for her son's return.
