The Ruin of Moab
Jeremiah 31
This chapter is a long lament and judgment against Moab, naming city after city that will be laid waste, mourning the shame of the god Chemosh and his priests going into captivity, and describing Moab's pride and false sense of security being brought low. It ends with the warning that whoever flees one danger in Moab will fall into another, for the Lord is bringing a day of reckoning upon the whole land.

ThomsonJoy and gladness were snatched from Moab, when the vine was in thy lakes. In the morning there was no treading, and in the evening no shouts of joy.
