Jacob Obtains the Blessing

Genesis 27

Isaac, old and blind, asks Esau to hunt venison so that he may bless him before he dies, but Rebecca dresses Jacob in Esau's clothing and goat skins so that he deceives his father and receives the blessing instead. Esau returns too late, weeps bitterly for a blessing of his own, and vows to kill Jacob, so Rebecca sends Jacob away to her brother Laban in Charran.

ThomsonNow after Isaak had finished blessing his son Jacob, when Jacob had but just withdrawn from the presence of his father Isaak, Esau his brother came from the chase.
