Jonathan's Raid and Saul's Oath

1 Samuel 14

Jonathan and his armor-bearer secretly attack a Philistine outpost, trusting the Lord to save by many or by few, and rout the garrison, throwing the Philistine camp into panic that Israel presses into a wider victory; Saul's rash oath forbidding the army to eat nearly costs Jonathan his life, but the people intervene to save him.
