Laws Concerning Vows

Numbers 30

Moses relays the Lord's instructions on vows and oaths, establishing that a man's word must stand, while a woman's vow may be confirmed or annulled by her father or husband on the day he hears of it. A widow's or divorced woman's vow, however, stands on her own account.
