Serpents and Victories East of Jordan
Numbers 21
After Israel is bitten by fiery serpents for speaking against the Lord and Moses, Moses is told to make a bronze serpent on a pole so that whoever looks upon it after being bitten will live. Israel then defeats the Canaanite king of Arad, King Seon of the Amorites, and King Og of Basan, taking possession of their cities and land.
