Amaziah's Downfall
2 Kings 14
Amaziah reigns in Judah, defeats Edom, and then rashly challenges Joash king of Israel to battle despite warning, resulting in Judah's defeat and the breaching of Jerusalem's wall; he is later killed in a conspiracy. Jeroboam the son of Joash reigns long over Israel and restores its borders, as the Lord had spoken through the prophet Jonah.
