Saul Anointed King
1 Samuel 10
Samuel anoints Saul with oil and gives him confirming signs, including an encounter with prophesying men whose spirit comes upon Saul so that he too prophesies; Samuel then gathers Israel at Massephath, where Saul is chosen by lot and presented to the people, though some men despise him and bring him no gifts.
