Babylon's Fall Announced

Jeremiah 27

The Lord declares that Babylon and her gods are overthrown by a nation from the north, so that Israel and Judah, scattered like lost sheep by their shepherds, may return weeping to seek the Lord and find their way back to Zion. The chapter describes Babylon's coming devastation in detail, calling archers to array against her and declaring that the Lord, the strong Redeemer of Israel, will contend with her on his people's behalf.
