Judgment on the House of David

Jeremiah 22

Jeremiah is sent to the king's house in Jerusalem to call the royal house to execute justice for the stranger, orphan, and widow, warning that failure to do so will bring the house to desolation. He then delivers oracles against three kings in turn, Shallum who will die in exile, Jehoiakim who will be buried like a donkey outside the gates, and Jeconiah who will be cast out to a foreign land with none of his descendants left to sit on the throne of David.
