The Remnant of Zion
Isaiah 4
After the devastation just described, seven women plead for a single husband to remove their reproach, showing how few men remain. The Lord promises to wash and cleanse the remnant left in Zion and Jerusalem, calling them holy and covering them with a protective cloud by day and a fire by night, like the shelter given from the beginning.
