The Vision of Egypt

Isaiah 19

Isaiah sees the Lord coming to Egypt, causing its idols to tremble and its people to turn against one another in civil strife while their rivers and industries fail and their wise counselors are shown to be fools before a foreign conqueror. Yet the vision turns toward hope, foretelling a day when Egyptians will know the Lord, build him an altar, and be healed by him, joining together with Assyria and Israel as a blessing in the midst of the earth.
