Putting Away Foreign Wives
Ezra 10
Moved by Esdras's weeping confession, a great assembly gathers and Sechenias proposes a covenant to put away the foreign wives and their children according to the law. Esdras assembles the people, and after a formal inquiry the chapter lists by name the priests, Levites, and other Israelites who had taken foreign wives and pledged to put them away.
