Signs for Moses

Exodus 4

The Lord gives Moses miraculous signs, a rod turned to a serpent and a hand turned white as snow, to convince Israel of his mission, and appoints Aaron to speak for him. Moses returns to Egypt with his family, and after an episode involving the circumcision of his son, he and Aaron gather the elders and perform the signs before the people, who believe and worship.

ThomsonTHEN Moses answered and said, If they will not believe and hearken to my voice—for they may say, God hath not appeared to thee: What shall I say to them?

BrentonAnd Moses said to the Lord, I pray, Lord, I have not been sufficient in former times, neither from the time that thou hast begun to speak to thy servant: I am weak in speech, and slow-tongued.

BrentonAnd the Lord was greatly angered against Moses, and said, Lo! is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he will surely speak to thee; and, behold, he will come forth to meet thee, and beholding thee he will rejoice within himself.
