The Idolatry of Manasseh

2 Kings 21

Manasseh reigns in Judah and undoes his father's reforms, rebuilding high places, erecting altars to foreign gods within the temple itself, practicing divination, and shedding much innocent blood, provoking the Lord to pronounce coming judgment on Jerusalem. His son Amon succeeds him, walks in the same evil ways, and is killed by his own servants, after which the people make Josiah king in his place.
