Jehu Destroys Ahab's House

2 Kings 10

Jehu compels the leaders of Samaria to kill Ahab's seventy sons and send him their heads, then kills the remaining relatives and officials of Ahab's house along with the brothers of Ahaziah. Under the pretense of a great sacrifice, he gathers all the worshippers and priests of Baal into Baal's temple and has them slaughtered, tearing down the temple and ending Baal worship in Israel, though he does not depart from the sins of Jeroboam.
